About Our Auction

"Market Day" is of one of a series of narrative teapots which garnered Leslie Lee national attention in the 1980's and '90's. This fantasy teapot, is in pristine condition; it looks like it was just removed from the kiln. More photos at http://meinersandlee.com
Lee is now a painter, but a progression of her ceramic work can been seen at Past Work on the website.
The artist will receive half of the selling price, shared with the estate of the owners who kept it safe for 26 years.

About Meiners & Lee Studios

Because Dennis Meiners and Leslie Lee have been making and selling their fine art for over forty years it is inevitable that some of that art comes up for resale. Usually, when art re-sells the maker is out of the loop and receives nothing for the gain in value the piece may command. In this case, because the owners have chosen to sell through the maker, the value is shared. Here is an opportunity bid on Leslie's art and enjoy the action of a live auction.
