Little Miami Conservancy Earth Day Fundraiser 2023

From being a severely polluted river in 1967, the Little Miami is now in the top 10% of healthy river ecosystems in Ohio. Its clean waters are home to 74 species of rare and sport fish, more than a dozen species of freshwater mussels, and 255 species of birds, including the Bald Eagle and Great Blue Heron. • Created more than 100 beautiful nature preserves through purchase and charitable gifts, and planted over 50,000 trees and 200 acres of native prairies.
• Acquired and demolished more than 50 eyesores (run-down structures, dumping grounds, etc.) along the Little Miami, allowing each parcel of land to return to its natural beauty.
• Partnered with public officials, landowners and developers to establish critical riverfront forests and prairie lands which filter runoff, provide vital shade and wildlife habitat, and help stabilize riverbanks.
• Educated thousands of kids about river ecosystems, local wildlife, and conservation through educational programs and fishing clinics.
