About Our Auction
From being a severely polluted river in 1967, the Little Miami is now in the top 10% of healthy river ecosystems in Ohio. Its clean waters are home to 74 species of rare and sport fish, more than a dozen species of freshwater mussels, and 255 species of birds, including the Bald Eagle and Great Blue Heron. About Little Miami Conservancy
Little Miami Conservancy (LMC) is the leading organization working to keep the Little Miami River a local and national treasure. LMC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit river conservation organization founded in 1967 to protect and restore the outstanding natural values of the Little Miami National Wild & Scenic River. We have successfully…
• Created more than 100 beautiful nature preserves through purchase and charitable gifts, and planted over 50,000 trees and 200 acres of native prairies.
• Acquired and demolished more than 50 eyesores (run-down structures, dumping grounds, etc.) along the Little Miami, allowing each parcel of land to return to its natural beauty.
• Partnered with public officials, landowners and developers to establish critical riverfront forests and prairie lands which filter runoff, provide vital shade and wildlife habitat, and help stabilize riverbanks.
• Educated thousands of kids about river ecosystems, local wildlife, and conservation through educational programs and fishing clinics.
