Terry Fox was only 21 years old when he wrote a letter to companies across Canada asking for their support for his cross-country run. Despite Terry’s youth, companies reacted overwhelmingly to his request. In 43 years since Terry ran his Marathon of Hope, companies have shown the same faith in The Terry Fox Foundation through ongoing support of our fundraising efforts.
The Terry Fox Foundation boasts one of the lowest administrative costs of all Canadian charities. Runs are 100% volunteer-organized with no budget for expenses, which means more funds are directed to research that improves the lives and futures of cancer patients.

On Sunday, September 20th, 2026, Kenora will come together again for the Terry Fox Run, and YOU are welcome to join us. Join your neighbours, your family and your friends all heading out together for the same reason -- to support Terry's dream of a world without cancer. You can run, walk, or wheel, but we're counting on your support.
It's a day to celebrate what Terry started and to keep his dream of a cure alive, and your city has always shown up for it. Over the years our community has raised more than $762,000 for innovative cancer research, a remarkable feat for Kenora and something we can be proud of.
