About Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference

At Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference, we create a community of civic minded and socially responsible citizens for generations to come by inspiring and empowering youth in leadership and servce.

Youth involved in Hands4Hope create and plan their own projects to support local charities and address unmet community needs and gain valuable experience and skills along the way. Youth participate in three ways:
- On-campus clubs at 13 middle and high schools from Folsom to Placerville;
- After school committees that focus on implementing a specific project, such as our School Supply Drive and Toiletries Drive;
- Community Engagement Events to provide direct service through partner community organization, such as preparing and serving meals to people experiencing food insecurity, or providing after school homework help to children in low-income housing.

In the last 15 years, Hands4Hope youth participants have collected 56,585 pounds of food for the food insecure in our community, prepared and served 60,571 meals to the homeless and to those food deprived. They’ve collected and distributed 70,869 articles of clothing and blankets, 68,362 school supplies, 16,500 pounds of toiletries, raised $334,903 for local outreach projects close to their hearts, included 563 youth in leadership roles/camps, and engaged 9,000+ youth in 120,855 service hours.
