About Our Auction

Hello everyone! Welcome to my charity stream! My name is Gibi, I am a full time YouTuber who makes ASMR content to help people relax, fall asleep, and make their stressful lives a little bit easier.

This year's charity stream is focused on a very special cause: helping continue the fight through the legacy of a sweet girl named Adelaide Cervantes, and supporting her incredible family by raising money for CURE.

As my community knows -- I have a bit of a passion for Hamilton. Stay with me here, it's relevant I promise!
Now, I've seen the Chicago cast perform 8 times in the last year -- shut up -- and each time, the highlight of the show was Miguel Cervantes - who stars as Hamilton. Every single performance I saw, no matter what day, no matter what show, I was blown away by his dedication to the role and the absolute life and talent he breathed into the character of Hamilton. My friends and I always say that we're glad Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote Hamilton -- so that Miguel Cervantes could play him!

This summer, my best friend Jen and I knew we had to make it to the Hamilton Exhibit that was closing in Chicago. We don't live close to the city, but we got off our butts and made the roadtrip anyway. As I was getting in line for our tour, Jen went to the bathroom...and then prompty RUSHED back to me, grabbing my hand. "Look, look!" It was Hamilton - rather, Miguel Cervantes - coming out of the gift shop.
We both turned embarrassing shades of red as we watched him take a photo with a beautiful woman and a boy -- "That must be his wife and son!" Jen said. We were being anything but covert -- and Miguel looked at us and asked if we wanted a picture too. Miguel, thank you so much for being so gracious to two red-faced fans. I am quite shy, and of course didn't utter any words of value, but your kindness sent us beaming through the rest of the day.

We went home that night and combed through social media (something Jen is very good at, ha!) and she linked me Kelly Cervantes Instagram page. "His wife! Oh my god, what a beautiful family."
Jen and I went through everything. The photos, posts, and finally, Kelly's blog. And we learned all about Adelaide, their beautiful daughter, who experienced her first seizure at just 7 months old. Kelly's Inchstones blog is award winning, and deservedly so. I have never had the honor to read something so thoughtful, raw, impactful. She is an incredible writer, an incredible mother, and an incredible advocate. I found myself reading post after post about their plight with Epilepsy, their daughter Adelaide, son Jackson, and the support system and team that came along with it.

I encourage you to watch the many videos on YouTube produced about the Cervantes' story, read Kelly's Inchstones Blog and social media, and of course, consider donating to CURE to help fund research that is direly needed.

While November (Epilepsy Awareness Month) just passed, fundraising for a cure for Epilepsy shouldn't be constrained to just one month. I want to help give CURE an extra boost as we go into 2020, and I thank you so much for checking out my auction!

I will be LIVE on YouTube on Saturday, December 7th, and LIVE on Twitch December 8th (a two-day event!) to promote the auction items, play games to raise some more dollars, and, as always, provide some rousing entertainment for you all! The auction will end at 8pm CST on Sunday, December 8th, but keep an eye out for items ending sooner.

I will be matching up to $10,000 of donations to hopefully raise $20,000 in the end for CURE. Items can be bid on starting December 3rd, so take advantage of the proxy bidding and Buy it Now options before the livestreams begin and my best auctioneer voice gets the people going!
Other ways to donate will be available during the livestream. Thank you so much!

About Gibi ASMR Charity Stream | CURE

CURE: Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy

November is Epilepsy Awareness Month - and CURE's mission is to find a cure for epilepsy, by promoting and funding patient-focused research.
The need for more research is clear: In approximately 50% of patients diagnosed with epilepsy, the cause is unknown.
