Winter Wonderland Gala Online Auction Event
The purpose of this online auction event is to raise funds for GRASP that will help us continue to provide quality services to our neighbors in need. When COVID-19 hit in early 2020 it had a devastating effect on our fundraising plans for the year. We were blessed to be able to have our 2020 Gala right before everything started shutting down. Unfortunately, the pandemic has canceled nearly all of our fundraising efforts since then.
The needs in our community are only going to increase as the effects of COVID-19 continue. Our mission is to utilize this online auction event to stay connected with the community while raising much-needed GRASP funds. Our 2020 Gala helped us raise over $16,000 for GRASP, and we are hopeful that this event will be even more successful!
GRASP is a nonprofit in Great Falls, SC dedicated to providing crisis assistance in the form of food, utility payments, and prescriptions to people in need. Rebecca Lowry, a Great Falls school teacher, GRASP was started by a school teacher was deeply disturbed by the number of children coming to school hungry each day and wanted to do something to help. A steering committee was developed, which ultimately resulted in the development of our organization. GRASP has grown by leaps and bounds throughout the years. For roughly forty-two years, GRASP was running solely by volunteers out of their homes or local churches. It was not until November of 2015 that GRASP could purchase the building that now houses GRASP Crisis Relief Center through funds raised by a capital campaign.
GRASP has been in existence for more than forty-six years, working to ensure our neighbors have their basic needs met. Our mission is to provide service, referrals, and assistance to the people in our community in a Christ-like way. Our goal is to make a significant and positive impact on our community by treating every person who comes to GRASP with dignity and respect.
