About Our Auction

This Adventure Auction is part of Golden Gate Bird Alliance's 2024 Birdathon, our biggest annual fundraiser. Help us protect Bay Area birds—while winning unique experiences and bird-related items that you'll treasure for a lifetime.

How the auction will work:

• The auction will open at 6 am on Sunday May 5, 2024 and will continue until 9 pm on Monday May 20, 2024.
• To bid, you'll be prompted to create a free account with 32Auctions.
• You can either bid an exact amount or by "proxy," in which 32Auctions automatically raises your bid such that it is the lowest possible winning bid, up to your maximum bid amount. Learn more at https://www.32auctions.com/pages/help.html#bidding
• Note: If an item receives a bid during the final 3 minutes of the auction, the item end time will be extended to allow for 3 additional minutes of bidding. This process repeats until no new bids are received during the final 3 minutes of the item bidding window, or the auction has been extended for a maximum of 30 minutes beyond the original end time.
* 32auctions will send the highest bidder an email about how to complete the payment process by credit or debit card. Also watch for an email from Daryl Goldman at dagoldman@comcast.net for instructions on how to receive or arrange your auction prize.

About Golden Gate Bird Alliance

Golden Gate Bird Alliance engages people to experience the wonder of birds, and translate that wonder into actions protecting native bird populations and their habitats. Founded in 1917, we are one of the oldest and most respected conservation organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area.

GGBA volunteers lead over 280 free bird walks for the general public each year and restore degraded habitat at eight public sites in both San Francisco and the East Bay. GGBA's award-winning Eco-Education program provides hands-on nature education in the field to over 500 elementary school students in San Francisco, Oakland, and Richmond, mostly from Title 1 (low income) schools.

GGBA’s best-known program may be its annual Christmas Bird Counts in San Francisco and Oakland, which mobilizes hundreds of volunteers to gather scientific data that is used to track and protect bird populations. In 2021, GGBA added a third count in Richmond, which historically has been under-served when it comes to parks and open space.

This year GGBA has launched a new Birding for Everyone initiative, which includes birding-class scholarships for people of color and other communities that have been traditionally under-represented in birding organizations.
