About Our Auction

The Laguna Plein Air Painters Association is incredibly fortunate to have so many generous collectors who have enthusiastically purchased artwork over the years, as well as our generous and talented artists, who wish to support LPAPA and it's Mission.

Since the opening of the LPAPA gallery in 2021 we have had many collectors inquire about assisting them with downsizing their collections. Acquiring the gallery space also gave us the ability to expand and enhance all of our art and education programs and provide opportunities to benefit members and collectors alike - but we can’t do this without additional fundraising efforts.

From our desire to further strengthen our programming for artist members and the community, and to offer collectors an opportunity to make changes to their valuable collections while also maintaining a provenance for the paintings, the idea of our Spring Fling Fundraiser was born!

We hope that you will take advantage of this first annual Spring Fling Fundraiser opportunity to start or add to your collection. All paintings are framed and offered at starting auction price based on 50% of their original sales price or estimated current value.

If you don't win the bid for the painting or experience you wanted, please consider supporting LPAPA with a donation! All amounts are gratefully accepted and 100% of every dollar donated is put to work to sustain and support LPAPA's Mission to preserve and promote Laguna's artistic legacy and the plein air painting tradition!

Support LPAPA! Celebrate the Legacy! Be Part of the Tradition!

About Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA)

The Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit art organization that was originally founded in Laguna Beach in 1996 by five artists -- Ken Auster, Jacobus Baas, Cynthia Britain, Saim Caglayan, and John Cosby -- with a mission to preserve the history of the plein air movement of 19th century California, to support the tradition as it exists today, and to foster a network among plein air painters nationwide.

LPAPA is considered the stewards of Laguna’s plein air painting legacy, which helped establish our town as an artists’ colony more than a century ago. Early plein air artists -- Edgar Payne, Frank Cuprien, Anna Hills, William Wendt, and other now famous artists -- founded the original Laguna Beach Art Association and opened the first art gallery in 1918. The permanent collection they started later established the town’s museum. LPAPA is committed to continuing the outdoor painting tradition and preserving the Laguna Plein Air Painting legacy.

LPAPA's mission includes career opportunities and education programs to help enhance the livelihood of our artist members and community, as well as educate and inspire the next generation of artists to continue the legacy.

Your support keeps the Laguna plein air painting tradition and legacy --- past, present and future alive! Thank you!
