About Our Auction

For over 31 years the Falmouth Walk has supported local Falmouth charities. Started by friends Eddie Doyle and Tommy Leonard the annual event has brought thousands of people together for a day of exercise, camaraderie and giving to those in need.

The Silent and Live Auction will begin on-line and continue at the famous post-walk party at St. Barnabas Church in Falmouth Center. Bid early and often on-line and later after the walk-in person at the annual Falmouth Walk Silent and Live Auction.

Please note an online bid may be out-bid at the live auction taking place at the Walk Party. We have added a buy-now option for most items, if you want to be certain to win the bidding for a particular item.

The 31st Annual Falmouth Walk is on the calendar for Saturday August 20th starting at 10am from Falmouth’s Town Hall Square. The picturesque 5K (about 3.2 miles) course will once again flow through the charming streets of Falmouth along the bustling Falmouth Harbor and past the storefronts of Main Street to the finish at St. Barnabas Church by the Town Green.

About Falmouth Walk

The Falmouth Walk is a non-profit 3.2 mile charity walk and auction event held annually the day before the Falmouth Road Race. The 2019 Falmouth Walk distributed over $39,000 to 13 local charities. The Falmouth Walk will be held virtually this year, registration is open through the website, www.falmouthwalk.org

The history of the Falmouth Walk dates to 1991, the year that the infamous “Hurricane Bob” plowed through Falmouth. Two old friends, Tommy Leonard (TL), a bartender at the Quarterdeck Restaurant in Falmouth, and Eddie Doyle, then a bartender at “Cheers” in Boston, came up the idea for the Falmouth Walk.

We have also been blessed to have friends provide enormous support all these years. For years, the Falmouth Road Race has provided all the beautiful T-Shirts for the participants. Others include Smitty’s Ice Cream, Poland Springs Water, Sam Adams Beer Co. as well as The Quarterdeck Restaurants. St. Barnabas Church has graciously allowed our participants and volunteers enjoy a family picnic and raffle on their beautiful grounds.

The Falmouth Walk is now part of the town’s summer landscape. Neither rain nor steam heat prevented folks from stepping off for a good cause. Last year 937 walkers set a record for the event. All the festivities, including the Friday Night Registration, the Walk, and the picnic, officially qualify as an annual family tradition.
