About Our Auction

The Falmouth Walk is a non-profit 3.2 mile charity walk and auction event held annually the day before the Falmouth Road Race. The 2019 Falmouth Walk donated over $39,000 to 13 local charities.

This year, more than even, our local charities need your support.

COVID-19 has made life more challenging for many of the communities our charities serve. We invite you to join us walking virtually and participate enthusiastically in our online-auction. Our 13 charities serve some of the most venerable members of our communities, without the annual support from the Falmouth Walk they will find completing their mission to be very difficult.

We will be back together next summer to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Walk but in the meantime please generously support our on-line auction.

Bid early and Bid often!!

About Falmouth Walk

The Falmouth Walk is a non-profit 3.2 mile charity walk and auction event held annually the day before the Falmouth Road Race. The 2019 Falmouth Walk distributed over $39,000 to 13 local charities. The Falmouth Walk will be held virtually this year, registration is open through the website, www.falmouthwalk.org

The history of the Falmouth Walk dates to 1991, the year that the infamous “Hurricane Bob” plowed through Falmouth. Two old friends, Tommy Leonard (TL), a bartender at the Quarterdeck Restaurant in Falmouth, and Eddie Doyle, then a bartender at “Cheers” in Boston, came up the idea for the Falmouth Walk.

We have also been blessed to have friends provide enormous support all these years. For years, the Falmouth Road Race has provided all the beautiful T-Shirts for the participants. Others include Smitty’s Ice Cream, Poland Springs Water, Sam Adams Beer Co. as well as The Quarterdeck Restaurants. St. Barnabas Church has graciously allowed our participants and volunteers enjoy a family picnic and raffle on their beautiful grounds.

The Falmouth Walk is now part of the town’s summer landscape. Neither rain nor steam heat prevented folks from stepping off for a good cause. Last year 937 walkers set a record for the event. All the festivities, including the Friday Night Registration, the Walk, and the picnic, officially qualify as an annual family tradition.
