About Our Auction
As many of you may know, we have been in lockdown due to COVID-19 for the last several months. Amma's tours abroad and in India have been cancelled. Amma said “Although Amma is unable to physically see your smiling faces, Amma sees each one of you in her heart. She is always thinking of you and praying for you.” Amma feels that this pandemic is a direct result of humankind’s selfish, boundless exploitation of Mother Nature.
In April 2020, the Mata Amritanandamayi Math announced donating ₹13 crores [$1.7 million U.S.] to help combat and contain COVID-19 as well as to provide relief to those physically, mentally and economically affected by the pandemic. Moreover, it will provide free care to COVID-19 patients at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (Amrita Hospital) in Kochi. ₹10 crores will go to the Central Government’s PM CARES Fund, and ₹3 crores will go to the Kerala Government’s Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.
Proceeds from our silent online auction will provide relief to those affected by the pandemic. To find updates on Embracing the World's response to combat and contain COVID19, visit: https://www.amritapuri.org/?s=covid

Our annual auctions in the past have built houses in India for the poor, contributed to the 2013 Typhoon Haiyan relief funds in the Philippines, 2011 Japan earthquake and Tsunami relief funds, 2010 Haiti earthquake disaster relief efforts, 2005 Hurricane Katrina relief funds in the US, and supported both phases of the 2004 Tsunami relief efforts.
Please visit www.embracingtheworld.com to learn more about Amma's various local and international ETW charitable projects.

About Embracing the World
Embracing the World (ETW) is a global network of regional humanitarian organizations, inspired by the India-based humanitarian initiatives of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math. Embracing the World exists to alleviate the burden of the world’s poor through helping to meet each of their five basic needs — food, shelter, healthcare, education, and livelihood — wherever and whenever possible. We are especially focused on helping to meet these needs in the aftermath of major disasters.
Augmenting these efforts, we work in the fields of environmental conservation and sustainability, to protect the future of our fragile planet. Through Amrita University, our researchers are innovating new means of delivery of goods, knowledge, information, energy and healthcare.
