About Our Auction
In honor of our beloved Amma's 63rd birthday, MA Centers are currently offering very special AMMA items for our annual silent auction. Several of these items have been donated by Amma; many are from her recent 2016 North American tour and some additional items have been donated by Amma's loving devotees. Proceeds from this online auction will benefit Amma's local and international humanitarian service projects, collectively known as "Embracing the World".
Online auctions in the past have contributed to many of Amma's humanitarian projects across the globe, including Amrita Kuteeram (Amma's housing project), disaster relief efforts, and the farmer relief project. The annual auctions have built houses in India for the poor, contributed to 2013 Typhoon Haiyan relief funds in Philippines, 2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami relief funds, 2010 Haiti earthquake disaster relief efforts, 2005 Hurricane Katrina relief funds in US, and supported both phases of the Tsunami relief efforts. Recently Mata Amritanandamayi Math (MAM) announced two massive charitable projects: a 50-crore relief-and-rehabilitation project in the flood-ravaged state of Uttarakhand (North India) and Amrita Swasraya Gramam a program to adopt 101 villages throughout India insuring a proper home for each villager along with social, educational, medical and community services for the adopted villages so that they may become self reliant and thrive as a community.

About Embracing the World
Embracing the World is a global network of regional humanitarian organizations inspired by the India-based humanitarian initiatives of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math. Embracing the World exists to help alleviate the burden of the world’s poor through helping to meet each of their five basic needs — food, shelter, healthcare, education, and livelihood — wherever and whenever possible. We are especially focused on helping to meet these needs in the aftermath of major disasters.
Augmenting these efforts, we work in the fields of environmental conservation and sustainability to help protect the future of our fragile planet. And through Amrita University, our researchers are innovating new means of delivery of goods, knowledge, information, energy, and healthcare so that we can get help to those in need here and now, wherever they are.
