About The Do It For Durrett Foundation
On June 17, 2014, the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex lost a treasure when sports personality Richard Durrett died suddenly at 38. Richard was survived by a then-pregnant wife and two small children. Richard’s zest for life and desire to help anyone and everyone led to the Do It For Durrett Foundation as a way to honor his memory and help working-class families in the Metroplex.
The Do It For Durrett Foundation (DIFD) is focused on raising funds for area working-class families that have been impacted by a sudden loss. The new non-profit was established to provide financial support to the surviving members of the families so that they can try to focus on the day-to-day job of trying to move on without a loved one. While it’s impossible to make up for the loss, the Foundation’s goal is to make the burdens that often accompany a sudden loss a little easier.
