About Our Auction

We are fundraising to ensure our Organization can expand its mandate throughout this District to educate residents about gardening practices, conservation, and environmental concerns and remedies. The OHA Convention will be held at the Brookstreet Hotel July 20-23, 2023. This fundraiser is to support the OHA Convention in Ottawa at the Brookstreet Hotel from July 20-23.

The mandate of the Ontario Horticultural Association is to provide education and knowledge that stimulates the best horticultural practices and furthers environmental considerations and improvements. The OHA Annual Convention offers membership networking, educational seminars, and guest speakers that further the understanding and knowledge of educational awareness and investment for the future in Horticulture.

The fundraising is initiated by the OHA host District 2 in Eastern Ontario that extends from Deep River and Madawaska to Smiths Falls and Ottawa. We are 19 Societies strong. We will fund membership team building, horticultural education, and the future in its strategic objectives.
ALL BIRDHOUSES HAVE COPPER PLATES COVERING THE HOLES AND HAVE BEEN VARATHANED SEVERAL TIMES WHERE APPROPRIATE. ALL BIRDHOUSES HAVE PERCHES.
Many of the birdhouses have access points from the bottom and are not screwed and are easy to remove. Some birdhouses have been screwed down and will need to be unscrewed if one wishes to clean them.
We have discovered that Wrens will clean their new homes and will refill them with new material. They will even fill birdhouses close to them to discourage competitors. To attach them to a post or pole I have been advised to ensure a screw is drilled through the hole or bird opening.

We will be offering a 12-inch dark brown backing board for the birdhouses that may need attaching to a post for any who wish it when they pick up their winning bids. They are free.
