CCC Building Renovation Fundraising Auction

The Chinese Community Center (CCC) in Latham, is launching its first major capital campaign. The Center, now in its 51st year, has seen significant growth among its programming, students, and activities, and it's time for the building to be updated so it can further adapt to the Center’s needs. The building serves thousands each year, and the new layout will make providing that service much more efficient. The project will include relocating support columns and replacing them with iron beams, raising the ceiling, relocating office space, and repairing and paving the damaged parking lot. This will be the first major renovation and update to the space since 2006. The total cost for the project is estimated to cost $95,000. The Chinese Community Center (CCC) was founded in 1973. CCC serves over 10,000 Chinese Americans in the Capital Region. CCC membership is open to everyone who is interested in Chinese culture and language.

CCC operates 10 ongoing weekly activity clubs and educational programs: our Sunday Chinese School, 3 dance clubs including Tai Chi Fan Dance, Math club for grade K-10, Calligraphy class, Ping Pong Club, and CCC Peking Opera Academy. CCC also held traditional celebrations like Lantern Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations annually.

With CCC’s growing number of members and its ongoing activities and events, CCC needs to conduct a major building renovation that will remove the supporting columns that separate the building hall space, raise the ceiling and move the office location. To better utilize the space for the growing needs, to serve over a thousand people join CCC activities and events in the building per year.
