About Our Auction

The Parent Resource Centre is a charity that helps build confident, resilient, families in Ottawa. We provide a wide variety of high quality programs, social services and supportive resources.

We help parents, caregivers and professionals – because they help children.

PRC’s FREE Toy Lending Library provides children with the opportunity to bring toys home for a two-week period. Our early childhood development specialists are on-hand to help parents select developmentally appropriate toys for their children at every stage of their early learning.

Our Emergency Baby Cupboard is available to families in the Sandy Hill neighborhood who are having difficulties and can’t afford to purchase the necessary supplies for their baby. Parents can take up to 3 items per month from the baby cupboard.

This auction will help raise funds to support all of PRC's programs and services.

About Parent Resource Centre (PRC)

Early Learning:
Annually, thousands of children, youth, parents, and caregivers access our Centre. We offer: EarlyON Playgroups; Specialized Infant Programs; Parent Support Groups and Workshops; Parent Support Phone Line; GoFamily! Map of online interactive services; and Toy Lending & Resource Libraries.

Family Resilience:
PRC offers specialized services to address the needs of vulnerable families by providing parenting support to those who are unable to access mainstream services. Families receive interventions based on their capacities and strengths. This program includes: counselling, evidence based workshops, in-home assessments and parenting strategies; Community Parent Cupboard (free access to personal care, household items and baby supplies); and we advocate for parents and help them navigate the system through collaboration with other services providers.

Training for Professionals:
PRC’s Early Learning Specialists offer training to community professionals who work with children. These sessions provide peer networking opportunities, skills building, problem solving and practical application of best practices and new early learning frameworks.

On average PRC serves 4,000 children and youth, and 4,100 parents annually in our community workshops, parenting support services and play-based programs. In addition, PRC serves over 1,500 professionals annually through our training program.
