About Our Auction

Welcome to BPILP's 2024 Auction Website!

A springtime signature event, the Buffalo Public Interest Law Program's annual Auction gives attendees an opportunity to win prizes, network with law alumni and students, and have a lot of fun. Proceeds provide fellowship funding for law students working in public interest summer internships. To find out more information, please visit: https://www.law.buffalo.edu/news/bpilp-auction.html.

The Event
BPILP's 2024 Auction will take place the evening of Friday, February 16th, 2024, from 6pm to 9pm at Pearl @ the Webb (92 Pearl St, Buffalo, NY 14202).

Auction Components
There are three main components to the Auction: a Live Auction, an Online Auction and a Raffle Auction. All tangible items will be available for pick up at the event. Winners of intangible items, tickets, or experiences will receive these items or be connected accordingly following the Auction.

Live Auction and Raffle Auction will be called at the event at 8pm. Winners must be present for the Live Auction and Raffle Auction.

Online Auction will open before the event on Thursday, February 15 at 5pm and run through the event at 8pm. Winners do not need to be present for the Online Auction and arrangements will be made for those not in attendance.

A limited number of Online Auction items will be marked as "STUDENTS ONLY." By donor request, these items may only be won by students currently enrolled at UB Law. If a winning bidder for one of these items is not a UB Law student, the item will be awarded to the highest bidder that is a student.

About Buffalo Public Interest Law Program

Commonly referred to as BPILP, the Buffalo Public Interest Law Program was founded at the School of Law in 1979. The goal of its founding members was to encourage law students to use their talents to bring equal access to those in need of legal help. Since 1993, this goal has been accomplished through providing competitive fellowships to law students who spend their summers working in the public interest sector.

Funding Fellowships

All of the money BPILP raises throughout the year from our fundraisers, including the auction, goes to students in the form of fellowships. The public interest and not-for-profit agencies where our fellows work are often understaffed and need additional assistance, but are unable to pay students. BPILP fellowships “bridge the gap” and allow students to work in the public interest and be paid to do so.
