About Our Auction

Congregation Beth David is a large synagogue in Silicon Valley that aims to enrich and transform peoples’ lives through prayer, study, and communal connection. We extend a warm welcome to everyone – families, singles, seniors, young adults, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and households with mixed ethnic, racial and/or cultural backgrounds.

The men’s and women’s groups of Congregation Beth David organize our Annual Silent Auction. The proceeds of the Silent Auction are used to support our Congregation, our Religious School, and our community outreach activities. Recent outreach activities have included donating food and school supplies to local agencies, joining other faith-based communities to provide a safe place to people living in their vehicles for overnight safety, supporting homeless and women’s shelters as well as the American Red Cross, Relay for Life, preparing hygiene kits for those who are less fortunate, and more. Our activities have been successful for many years thanks to our volunteer members and generous donations from local businesses.

Proxy Bidding Explained:
An online Proxy Bid allows you to enter the maximum amount you are willing to spend in advance and then lets the system bid for you up to that amount. For example, if an item is currently selling for $10 and you enter a proxy bid of $50, the system will automatically bid for you at listed increments when competing bids are placed until the selling price goes over $50. At that point, you will be outbid and someone else will be the leading bidder. You will only owe the amount the system has bid for you which will never be more than your maximum proxy bid amount. A proxy bid is a single bid and only shows up in the online bid history one time.

Payments:
At the conclusion of the auction the highest valid bid wins and winners will be promptly notified. Buyers are expected to pay for and arrange pick up or delivery of their items promptly. Payment by check payable to "Beth David Men's Club" is preferred, Major Credit Cards are accepted online or on site and Paypal payments to paypal.me/cbdmensclub are an acceptable form of payment (please add the bidder's name to the notes section). Beginning at the conclusion of the auction at 1 p.m. on March 24th most items will be available for same day payment and pickup at Beth David until 4 p.m.
