AAD 2024 Summerfest BBQ Silent Auction

The Annual Summerfest BBQ is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. The money raised at the BBQ and through the Silent Auction will go towards our ongoing efforts to organize our community, register and motivate voters, and elect strong candidates to advance the interests of the Democratic party locally.

Ankeny, the fastest growing city in Iowa, is home to Ankeny Area Democrats (AAD). Ankeny Area Democrats is a grassroots political action committee run by volunteers focused on organizing in the community. In recent years, AAD has become a force to be reckoned with, scoring major wins even as statewide democrats struggled. In 2022, AAD played a major role in flipping House District 41 and securing House District 40 by electing Heather Matson and Molly Buck. We are a motivated and organized group in the Ankeny area that are quickly balancing the registration in the city of Ankeny and the surrounding area even in the face of voter suppression efforts at the Capitol.
