In conjunction with the 2023 Lawyer Show: Urinetown The Musical, we are thrilled to offer this hybrid auction from May 24 - June 3, featuring an exciting array of prizes and experiences!

Please bid generously and spread the word! All proceeds from the auction will support Nightwood’s mission to create and develop groundbreaking feminist theatre, and to provide free programs and professional development opportunities for an incredibly diverse group of artists across the country.

ABOUT THE LAWYER SHOW
The Lawyer Show is Nightwood’s main annual fundraiser. Every year, supported by a team of directors, designers and vocal coaches, over 40 members of the legal community rehearse for three months to be able to stage an exhilarating, entertaining, professionally led production.

Since the Lawyer Show’s inception in 2010, some 300 legal professionals have appeared in 13 shows to raise more than $1,145,000 in support of Nightwood.

URINETOWN, The Musical is a hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, environmental collapse, privatization of natural resources, bureaucracy, municipal politics, and musical theatre itself!

In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he’s had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!

This is a hybrid auction! That means it will be available online until May 31 at 10:30AM EDT. After that, the auction will go offline and can only be bid upon in-person at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Performing Arts during the run of Urinetown The Musical from June 1-3. Online bidders, you may consider setting up a proxy bid - this lets us know the highest bid that you are willing to make, and we will continue to bid for you after the auction moves offline.

PAYMENT DETAILS
The auction will finish after the closing night performance of Urinetown on June 3, 2023. The following week, winning bidders will receive an invoice from 32auctions and we will be in touch to arrange payment and delivery of auction items. We accept payment via e-transfer to payment@nightwoodtheatre.net. If this does not work for you, please contact Charlene at charlene@nightwoodtheatre.net to arrange payment via credit card.

DELIVERY DETAILS
Digital items will be emailed to winning bidders after payment is received. Physical items can be picked up for free from our office at Daniels Spectrum (585 Dundas St. E, Toronto) or we can arrange for items to be couriered or delivered to you for an additional cost.
