We thank you so much for your support over the last season as we launched world premieres, overcame challenges, and most importantly, showcased some fantastic new Canadian theatre! Our goal in raising funds is to continue championing new Canadian plays, while making theatre radically accessible with our Pay-What-You-Will initiative. Your support helps us create a strong community around new Canadian theatre without financial barriers! Excellent Edmonton artists, arts collectives, retailers, and restaurants have generously donated experiences, merchandise, and masterpieces to cheer on our cause. Let’s make it count!

Workshop West Playwrights’ Theatre stands tall as Alberta's groundbreaking "playwrights' theatre"—the first company in the province exclusively dedicated to the development and production of new Canadian plays. 

At WWPT, Canadian artists and their stories are the priority. Our mission is to construct a stage where local playwrights shine by developing their work, and uphold the community, city and country through contemporary Canadian voices.
For almost five decades, WWPT has championed playwrights at all stages of their careers, and now we’re focusing on fostering community and inclusivity. In order to make theatre radically accessible for everyone, we’ve launched a bold initiative that offers every ticket, plus season subscriptions at Pay-What-You-Will prices!
