Writing for Charity

Every year, over 100 Utah authors join together to donate their time and talents to a Writing for Charity cause. This year, proceeds will be donated to Kids Cause, an organization that provides glasses, shoes, clothing and medical needs for local Utah county schools. This auction is usually offered exclusively at the Writing for Charity Conference, but this year ANYONE can bid on over 30 items, including original artwork, critiques, books, author visits, Skype visits, lunches and more.

In addition to the day-long writing conference, Writing for Charity also offers a silent auction. This year, we are expanding the auction so thos not attending the conference can also bid!
Almost 100 local Utah writers donate their time for the day, offering critiques, presentations and panels. Local businesses often contribute, as well as other volunteers. We have donated books to a Thai orphanage, to doctor's offices for sick and dying children, to The Book Wagon, and to other groups, including We Need Diverse Books and First Book. This year our charity is KIDS CAUSE. Our committee is unpaid and we spend many hours every year for the sole purpose of giving back to our community through books.
