About Our Auction
WBC is working with JCC Parks & Recreation in creating a much-needed Rowing Center as the centerpiece in revitalizing Chickahominy Riverfront Park's non-motorized boating access. The overall multiyear project includes waterfront and handicap access, boat storage and indoor facilities, and improved traffic access and parking.
PHASE 1 FUNDING AND DEVELOPMENT
While the overall Rowing Center funding will exceed $500,000, we are breaking the development into smaller projects that provide high functional improvements, quickly. Phase 1 starts this Fall with the Park adding rest rooms and relocating RV storage to reroute boat house traffic for safer rower drop off and pickup. The Park is also granting WBC access to an existing storage facility that will be repurposed for indoor training, electronics storage, coaching office, classroom for learn to row and other programs and a bad weather shelter. WBC is seeking to raise $50,000 for re-purposing the storage facility as part of Phase 1.
