About Our Auction

We're excited to celebrate with you! As members, friends, and children of your esteemed sailing community, we're thrilled to be the beneficiary of your efforts. We appreciate all you do for our sailing community here in Wayzata and wish you success in 2021 - both on the water and in life!

All funds raised will go directly towards Wayzata Sailing's unrestricted donation fund. This fund directly powers the staff, training, repairs, and equipment that keeps students on the water and smiling. Arguably the most important cause our organization has!

About Wayzata Sailing

Lake based community, learning, and sailing - for all.

We're dedicated to providing the west Minneapolis metro with the best, safe access to Lake Minnetonka. Sailing is part of our lake's heritage--a connection for all. Our mission is to actively encourage everyone (regardless of financial or physical ability) to experience and discover the lake through the sport of sailing. The water provides real, tangible experiential learning and life skills. Our dedicated crew promotes continual discovery, team work, confidence, leadership, science skills, nature, and more through sailing.

Through sailing and our STEM classes, we work to provide a powerful link between the region and beautiful Lake Minnetonka. We help guests learn to respect and take care our natural environment, to enjoy the lake, to lead, to work as a team and develop life long skills. Learning to sail is inclusive, inter-generational, sporty, nerdy, co-ed, environmental and transforming. Our camps and racing classes cultivate a growing population of inquisitive youth ready to confidently take on the world through curiosity and iterative growth.

Adaptive, Outreach, and Scholarship programming ensures there are no barriers to the lake. By working with local partners like Wayzata Public Schools, YMCA Twin Cities, and Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners we ensure that those most in need have access and a voice. While hyper local in our outreach, our programming has spread to participants across 63 individual cities in Minnesota. Our unique blend of education and community access has created a truly individual and irreplaceable community.

The completion of the Mike Plant Community Boathouse in 2019 expanded our reach and solidified our growth from a sailing school to true community center. Winter programming, community spaces, and STEM laboratories have reinforced our commitment to lifelong and year round learning. Growing communities like the Wayzata Fishing Team continue to find shelter in our community, aligning on shared values like a respect for the lake and inclusion. We're proud to be a safe harbor for anyone doing good within our community!
