Walk in Someone Else's Shoes

A number of renowned artists, writers and musicians have generously donated works, inspired by the theme of the exhibition and on pairs of thongs, as part of a fundraising exhibition with all proceeds going to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre.

We at Southern Buoy Studios are really concerned about Australia’s treatment of asylum seekers and want to encourage the community to think further about this issue and support the ASRC. Why thongs? Thongs are the most popular style of shoe all around the world and for decades have been an egalitarian and accessible form of footwear.

The auction opens on Sunday 14 July at 2pm and will run until 3 August. See the works in real life at Southern Buoy Studios, 1/19 Carbine Way, Mornington. Thanks for your support!

Southern Buoy Studios provides a space and platform to engage with community and to encourage and challenge our understanding of the arts. The space consists of a large gallery, with an exciting and changing exhibition and events program throughout the year, as well as eight artists studios.
