About Vashon Maury Cooperative Preschool

The Co-op has been part of the Vashon community for forty-nine years and has served over 2000 families. As the only cooperative preschool on the island, VMCP offers a unique parent education and parent-as-teacher model.

Alongside a lead teacher, parents take an active role as co-teachers in our daily classes, and in the administration and operation of our school. Parents attend parent education classes monthly and are supported in the classroom by their parent education instructor. At co-op, we learn along side our children. This model benefits not only our families but the greater community by teaching parents and students together.

The co-op model is built around inclusion and participation by all, so our fundraising supports scholarships, low tuition costs, and a fair wage for our staff.

Without the generosity of all of our supporters, VMCP would not be the place that it is today, thank you!
