About Our Auction

Turtle Pond Wildlife Centre is now the sole wildlife centre for Northeastern Ontario and that means increased intake of wildlife! Each animal has its own special needs for diet, housing, and treatment, and all of that costs real dollars.

In recent years, Canada's wildlife has seen so many challenges - from climate change, habitat loss, and pollution, that wildlife rehabilitation grows increasingly important. Those who come across orphaned, injured, or ill wild animals find it to be an immense relief to bring animals to us, knowing that we will do all we can to help them recover and live their wild lives again, We believe that life is precious, and that caring for nature is important, and frankly, the right thing to do. We hope that you do too.

Please bid often, and bid generously if you can. All proceeds will support animal care. Our auction is open until noon on Sunday, June 14th (EDT).

BIDDING:
Anyone can browse the auction, but to bid, you must create an account with your name and e-mail address.

ADS:
When browsing our auction, you'll see advertising on the page. Please continue to scroll down the page for descriptions of the items. (The ads are part of the auction host's site and they help us keep the costs of administering this auction down, so that more funds are available to provide for the wildlife.)

PROXY BIDS (optional):
This software will bid on your behalf if you enter in the maximum amount you are willing to pay. Should you be outbid, it will automatically place a bid (in the amount of the noted bid increment) on your behalf up to the maximum amount and alert you by email if you have been outbid.

EXTENDED BIDDING:
If a bid is received during the last 30 seconds prior to auction close, the bidding for that item will be automatically be extended for 3 additional minutes and then close permanently. This gives other bidders a fair chance to win the item.

PAYMENTS:
At close of auction, if you are a successful bidder, you will receive an invoice by email for the item(s) you won, and it will contain a link to PayPal where you can either pay with your PayPal account or a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, AmericanExpress). You may also pay with a bank e-transfer if you prefer. Paying by e-transfer eliminates credit card processing fees and lets Turtle Pond keep the full amount of the bid. Send e-transfers to turtlepondwc@gmail.com (Password is irrelevant as autodeposit is set up for additional security of e-transfers.) With the City of Sudbury still under a state-of-emergency due to COVID-19, payment via e-transfer or PayPayl/Credit card is preferred for both pick-up and delivery options.

QUESTIONS:
If you have any questions about our auction, please use the handy link to send an email and our volunteer auction coordinator will respond as soon as possible. Please avoid calling the centre with auction questions as they are busy caring for animals and responding to wildlife emergencies.

THANK YOU!
We are grateful for the support of everyone who donated to this auction, and for everyone who bids or shares the link. In the description of each item, you will see a "Donated by" box. If you have a moment to visit our donors' websites or Facebook pages, please do, and think of them if you are considering purchases. Thank you!

About Turtle Pond Wildlife Centre

Turtle Pond Wildlife Centre is a licensed wildlife rehabilitation centre located in Val Caron, Ontario (Greater Sudbury). It was founded in 2017 by Gloria Morissette, and is a registered charity. All species of wildlife are accommodated whenever possible, and transport is arranged to other wildlife rehabilitation facilities in Ontario if it is in the best interest of the patient.

Turtle Pond Wildlife Centre has taken in animals from as far away as Kenora, Timmins, North Bay, and Manitoulin Island. In 2022, the Centre cared for 800 wild animals – each with its own special dietary, housing, and treatment needs. The costs add up – reaching $80,000 last year.

In recent years, Canada's wildlife has seen so many challenges - from climate change, habitat loss, and pollution - that wildlife rehabilitation grows increasingly important. Those who come across orphaned, injured, or ill wild animals find it to be an immense relief to bring animals to us, knowing that we will do all that we can to help them recover and live their wild lives again. Together, we can give our wildlife a second chance at a wild life. On behalf of the wild ones, thank you!
