The MISSION of The First Tee of Phoenix is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

The First Tee of Phoenix provides an affordable and accessible avenue to expose young people to the game of golf and to develop essential character and core values. We like to use the phrase to describe the effectiveness of our programs; Good Golfers……Better People!

The First Tee of Phoenix integrates 9 Core Values™ in every facet of programming. These 9-Core Values™ are: HONESTY, INTEGRITY, RESPECT, COURTESY, SPORTSMANSHIP, PERSEVERANCE, RESPONSIBILITY, CONFIDENCE and JUDGMENT – all values inherent in the game of golf. We also integrate into all of our programming an educational model of 9-Healthy Habits™. This initiative encompasses all areas of youth developmental health: ENERGY, PLAY, SAFETY, VISION, MIND, FAMILY, FRIENDS, SCHOOL, and COMMUNITY.

The First Tee of Phoenix is one of the largest chapters of The First Tee network. We currently impact more than 140,000 Phoenix Area youth using 3 core programming models.
• LIFE-SKILLS PROGRAM: The First Tee of Phoenix has over 1500 members that participate in our Life-Skills Experience curriculum at one of our 17 green grass golf facilities.
• NATIONAL SCHOOL PROGRAM (NSP): The First Tee of Phoenix partners with over 14 School Districts (180+ Elementary Schools). NSP is implemented through each schools Physical Education department where every year a golf unit is taught using The First Tee NSP curriculum. The number of students impacted through this program is over 130,000 children.
• DRIVE: The First Tee of Phoenix partners with After School Programs to provide a program that exposes children to golf and The First Tee Core Values and Healthy Habits by modifying traditional sports using golf equipment. We currently have relationships with Valley Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCAs, and School District After School Programs. The number of participants impacted through this program is over 2000 children.
