The Last Line of Defence

The Last Line of Defence is a charity art exhibition and auction to help raise much needed funds to support the work Sea Shepherd is undertaking around Australia.

Created by Melbourne based artist Samantha Iurada, in collaboration with Sea Shepherd Australia, Samantha saw the fight to protect our Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and precious marine life as a vital responsibility.

Sea Shepherd is an international direct-action ocean conservation movement. Operation Reef Defence is Sea Shepherd’s campaign to protect the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and to Stop Adani from developing the world’s biggest and most destructive coal mine, rail link and coal port. A significant amount of funding is required to drive Sea Shepherd campaigns in conjunction with an army of passionate volunteers.

This is where The Last Line of Defence comes in. Emerging and notable Australian and International artists are generously creating and donating their artwork to raise funds and awareness to continue the fight for the Great Barrier Reef and our precious Australian marine life. 100% of auction proceeds will go directly to support Sea Shepherd in their battle to defend, conserve and protect the Reef as well as our oceanic ecosystems.
