Mask Querade Ball 2021

Help the Needy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization that was founded thirty-eight years ago by Greg Schilling, to help individuals and families in Teller County who were in need of temporary financial assistance. Since then our organization has grown to include over 120 volunteers who service the needs of hundreds of clients throughout the year in Teller County and surrounding areas.

To assist the organization with this objective, we hold fundraisers every year, the most important of which by far is its annual Sweetheart Ball which brings in more than 30% of our annual revenue.

The Sweetheart Ball has always been a semi-formal gala which is arguably the signature social event of the year in Teller County. It is a place to see and be seen, as well as a truly magical evening for all of the 200 plus attendees who continue to return year after year.

This year, due to the virus, we will be holding our event online. Please join us for the live portion on Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, and will feature a live auction, special presentations and drawings throughout the night. Our Silent Auction will run two weeks prior and through the evening of the event. Our theme this year is a “Mask-Querade” Ball, and we invite you to join in and have a “Mask-Querade” Ball of your own at your home or business. As in the past, sponsorships and corporate tables are available for the Sweetheart Ball. As always, you can make a donation to our event if you can’t attend the live event or donate an auction item.

Help the Needy (HtN) was founded in 1982 to provide assistance to people in need when they encounter unforeseen challenges. The intent of the assistance is to offer those in need a hand-up, not a hand-out. Hope truly lives here at HtN. Helpthe Needy is a Federally qualified Section 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Since our founding, HtN has grown in sizeand mission. In 2009, HtN moved its offices to its current location in the central business district of Woodland Park to betterserve its clients and to provide a more effective working environment for our volunteers.

HtN continues to develop and serve our community with compassion and fairness.
