About Our Auction
On October 27, 2020 at 6:00 PM we will host our first ever Sutton Scholars "Build a Better Baltimore Virtual Gala!" Since 2015, and through the kindness of others, we have raised over $1 million for the program. Our fundraising goal for this event in 2020 is $60,000! This silent auction will enable us to reach far and wide, before and during the event, to help us reach our goal.
Thank you for your support by bidding on one or more of our auction items. By your generosity, you are making it possible for the youth of Baltimore to live into their own dreams and fulfill their potential.
About Sutton Scholars High School Enrichment Program
Sutton Scholars High School Enrichment Program, through the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland, teaches high school students the importance of life and soft skills.
The Sutton Scholars program launched in 2016 with a cohort of 30 rising freshmen. Scholars participate in our program throughout their high school career, with a new class of up to 30 youth recruited each summer. Outside our five-week session, scholars remain engaged with our program through mentoring and monthly activities with their cohort. Despite COVID, we were able to host our program digitally this year. Scholars received 3 days of online instruction, plus one day of academic tutoring, during June and July. Lessons focused on life skills, ranging from resume building and interviewing, to public speaking and financial literacy, to mindfulness and mental health care, ever important in a pandemic. This crucial program will assist them as they continue to steer their way through the coming year of high school when so much is uncertain for them.
