Sororidad Mu Alpha Phi was founded on October 24, 1927, at the University of Puerto Rico in Río Piedras by a group of visionary young women committed to friendship, service, culture, and the advancement of women. As the first Puerto Rican sorority, Mu Alpha Phi became a pioneering organization dedicated to the intellectual, moral, and social development of women, with philanthropy and community responsibility at the heart of its mission.

For nearly a century, the Sorority has brought together generations of women across Puerto Rico and beyond, united by a shared commitment to beneficence, culture, leadership, and service. As it approaches its 100th Anniversary in 2027, Sororidad Mu Alpha Phi continues to honor the vision of its founders while building a legacy of women supporting women and strengthening the communities they serve.

Zona Orlando of Sororidad Mu Alpha Phi was officially established on October 23, 2016, marking an important chapter in the Sorority’s growth beyond Puerto Rico. Created by sorority sisters living in Central Florida, Zona Orlando became a meaningful connection between Mu Alpha Phi’s legacy and the Puerto Rican diaspora in the continental United States.

Over the past decade, Zona Orlando has grown into a vibrant sisterhood defined by service, unity, culture, and leadership. Its members have remained committed to creating meaningful opportunities to support the Central Florida community while strengthening the bonds of sisterhood and preserving the traditions and values of Sororidad Mu Alpha Phi.

In celebration of its 10th Anniversary — A Golden Decade — Zona Orlando is proud to present the Golden Gala Silent Auction as part of a celebration with purpose. Proceeds raised through this auction will benefit One Heart for Women and Children, an Orlando-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women, children, and families in need throughout Central Florida.

Through this partnership, Zona Orlando seeks to transform its anniversary celebration into an opportunity to give back, helping further One Heart’s mission of providing essential resources, food assistance, and compassionate support to families in the community.

This effort reflects the spirit that has guided Zona Orlando throughout its first decade: celebrating our legacy by continuing to serve.
