This is the only fundraiser for our LIFE TEEN / EDGE ministries, and every penny you spend for this event will go directly to funding them.

LIFE TEEN is a Catholic youth ministry program with the mission of leading all teens closer to Christ through the celebration of the Eucharist, the teachings of Christ and His Church, and through the experience of being loved and accepted. LIFE TEEN consists of the celebration of the Eucharist on Sunday evening (open to the parish) followed by a LIFE Night. The LIFE Night is a social, inspirational, educational and spiritual gathering.

The LIFE TEEN program includes several retreats per year, service projects (Servants for Christ, St. Al’s Food Pantry, etc.), Right to Life Trip to Washington DC, Senior Apostleship, several outings (including Cedar Point, Catholic Youth Summer Camp, ski trip, The FEST, etc.) and additional opportunities for enrichment (including leadership seminars, prayer groups, EXALT—XLT, and T3—prayer opportunity).

EDGE is a revolutionary, Catholic ministry designed to meet the educational, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of middle school youth (grades 6, 7, and 8). Edge goes outside the traditional classroom model in order to address not only the education of their minds but also the conversion of their hearts in faith. They are taught the tenets of the faith, then shown the love of God shown through the Church community – all in one program.

Early adolescence is a critical and difficult time for anyone. The operative word during this time is CHANGE! It is during this phase that many young people become leery of their faith and begin to question what they believe. We particularly want to get them headed in the right direction on their personal spiritual journey during this time, just as they are forming more mature opinions and making major decisions that will affect the rest of their lives.

In many respects, middle school youth are on the “edge” between being a child and being a teenager. In the context of faith, these youth are moving from a parent-dependent spirituality to an independent ownership of their Catholic faith and identity.

EDGE is a ministry of “seed-planting:” seeds of faith, hope, love, knowledge, and peace are given to middle school youth to cultivate as they continue their journey through Life Teen.

Middle-schoolers are faced with a multitude of options and choices to be made. They are taught many things by society, the media, and their friends that are directly opposed to Catholic morals and beliefs. We try to counter these influences by reaching out to them where they are and bringing them to the fullness of the Catholic faith – not watered down, but in all its truth and glory.
