Stage One Lansing Silent Auction

Stage One is a unique 100+ seat arts hub like nothing else in Lansing. We have six arts groups that regularly use the performing arts center and several businesses growing in our incubator kitchen. We are also the home of Sycamore Creek Church.

Before Stage One opened, there was no affordable 100–200 seat stage in Lansing. A company with a show and no budget had to choose between a room too big, a room too small, or no room at all.

Stage One is that room. It sits at 2200 Lake Lansing Rd, created through a partnership between Sycamore Creek Church's Eastwood campus and the community theater companies that needed somewhere to work. Today it's home to Peppermint Creek Theatre, Ixion Ensemble, Happendance, Good Neighbor Concert Series, Capital City Film Festival, and Quality Scary, along with the Lansing Children's Choir, Mini Maestros, and others. Downstairs, an incubator kitchen gives food-business startups a commercial space they couldn't otherwise rent.

The whole point is access — a stage, a kitchen, and an audience at a price an artist or an entrepreneur can actually afford.

The money raised by this auction will go toward helping cover the expenses associated with keeping the stage affordable. The fair market value for a community theater to have two weeks of rehearsals and two weeks of shows is about $7000. We rent it to any art or community group on a pay-what-you-can basis. Money raised by this auction will help cover the difference and keep Stage One affordable.
