Bridge Paintings

On Sunday June 29th 2014 the South Park community in Seattle threw a huge party to celebrate the opening of the new South Park Bridge. The old bridge was permanently closed four years earlier with no plans to replace it. Due to amazing community effort, funding was eventually acquired to build a new bridge. As part of the celebration, South Park Arts hired artists to participate in a live-painting event that afternoon. They were each given a 24” by 24” hardboard and two hours to cover it using their choice of medium. The resulting paintings are now being auctioned.

All proceeds of this sale will benefit South Park Arts, a non-profit organization working to promote art and artists in South Park, Seattle.
