Sonic Postcards

A once-in-a-forever opportunity to secure a unique signed postcard artwork. The postcards have been created by a roll-call of musicians, artists and speakers who've performed at St George's Bristol over many years - they include paintings, drawings, poems, personal messages, music manuscript, and cartoons, and are all signed by the artists who created them. This is a once-only chance to take home a slice of the magic that takes place on our stage.

Meanwhile, your winning bid will help fund St George's work as an independent charity (no. 295178) and live music venue in the heart of Bristol, UK. We present over 300 performances each year - creating unforgettable musical experiences by bringing together exceptional artists with local audiences and communities.

We also create free musical activities with families, children and young people to inspire and build confidence; we create opportunities for young people and emerging artists following their musical dreams; we work with partners across Bristol to invite as many people as possible to take part in collective musical experiences.

We aim to raise in the region of £500,000 in charitable funding each year to do this. By taking part in this Sonic Postcards project you're helping to support all the work we do, whilst bagging a unique piece of art to take home!

About St George's Bristol

St George’s Bristol – Where Music, Ideas, and Community Come Together

St George’s Bristol is a world-class, independent music venue with a rich history and a vibrant future. Our 580-seat concert hall, transformed from a 200-year-old Georgian church, offers an intimate and acoustically exceptional setting – praised by Sir Simon Rattle as “the best acoustic for chamber music in Europe.” Here, every note resonates with clarity, often without amplification, creating unforgettable experiences for audiences and artists alike.

But St George’s is more than a concert hall. We’re a cultural hub where music meets ideas, learning, and joy. Our diverse programme includes philosophy talks, author events, family-friendly performances, lunchtime concerts, and comedy – all created to inspire and connect our community.

Our beautiful venue has grown too. A striking pavilion-style extension now houses our welcoming Café Bar and the versatile Glass Studio, supporting workshops, talks, and creative gatherings.

As a UK registered charity, we rely on the generosity of supporters to help us continue our work – nurturing talent, enriching lives, and making world-class music accessible to all.

By taking part in our fundraising auction, you’re directly helping us to deliver this mission.

Live Event Information

On 24 September, St George's will host a very special evening with Dame Evelyn Glennie - the world's premier solo percussionist - in collaboration with Bristol Ensemble. Listen In is an exploration of sound, and what might happen if we slow down, take a moment, and really listen with all our senses.

The selected Sonic Postcards listed here as 'online and live' will be reserved for final bidding at a live auction as part of this event. If you wish to bid online only, please ensure you include your best and final offer before the auction closes on the 24 September. More information about Listen In and booking can be found here.
