About Our Auction

For the upcoming Yomim Noraim, we are continuing to use an online bidding system to allow ease of access and allow each bidder to have greater control over their bids. Thank you in advance for your generous support.

The bidding will open on Moitze Shabbos September 21, 2019 and close on September 26, 2019 at 7pm for Rosh Hashanah bids and October 7th at 7pm for Yom Kippur bids. This site is available for preview in the meantime, and for you to set up an account.

The easiest way to find the kibbud you want is by looking at the category list by clicking on the dropdown menu at the top of the page (by default it says "All Items (87)" and selecting the minyan you're looking for to bid on a kibbud. For example, to bid on Maftir for the first day of Rosh Hashana in the Main Shul, click on the heading, “Main Shul 1st Day RH”, find the Maftir kibbud, and click the link. From there, you will be directed to either login or create an account.

Creating an account: Enter your email address, name, and bidder name. For ‘name’, please enter your real name as this will allow the gabbaim to easily track who you are. The ‘bidder name’ is like a username. When bidding, the bids will show up in an anonymous way based on the bidder name. For example, if your bidder name was ‘Highest Bidder’, when placing bids, it will show up as ‘H……r’. After signing up, you will get a confirmation email with a link to confirm your account. You MUST click this link to be able to place bids.

Types of bids: There are two types of bids; exact bids and proxy bids. When entering an exact bid, you are entering the exact amount you want to pay. A proxy bid is when you place a bid for the maximum amount you are willing to spend, then let the system bid for you up to that amount. For example, if an item is currently selling for $50 and you enter a proxy bid of $360, the system will automatically bid the minimum bid increment (in most cases $10) more than the prior bidder until another bid goes over $360. At that point, you will be outbid and someone else will be the leading bidder.

The website will send an automatic email to you when you have been outbid.

Questions can be directed towards the gabbaim, Alan Taragin and David Bienenstock, the office staff, and Natan Berry.
