About Our Auction
Welcome to the Jeffrey W. and Jo Anne R. Coy Public Library of Shippensburg’s fifth annual online silent auction! We hope you enjoy this process for bidding on a great assortment of items donated from our Friends of the library, library Board members, area businesses, and community members. The online auction begins Saturday, April 19 at 8:00 p.m. and ends on Sunday, April 27 at 8:00 p.m. Proceeds benefit our library operations.
Many auction items will be on display in the library community room on Saturday, April 26, during regular library hours.
We need your support! BID HIGH AND OFTEN!
How to bid on the auction:
* To place a bid, you will be asked to create a log-in using an e-mail address and password. Verify your e-mail and you’re all set to start bidding.
* If you enter your cell number, you will be able to receive text message updates during the auction.
* Scroll through all the offerings and place your bids. Can also use the auction filters area to see the categories - click on the up/down arrow. Once the bid is submitted, you will receive e-mail updates and/or text message updates so you don’t miss out on your favorite item.
* You can use your cell phone or computer to view and bid on items. Just enter the link above in any browser and you can do everything on-line, including making a payment with Stripe or a credit card. The Friends of the Shippensburg Public Library is a Stripe "confirmed charity" which qualifies us for a lower processing fee (which translates to more money for the library). However, you can choose to pay the processing fee so we receive the full amount of the winning bid. If you prefer to pay by cash or check you are welcome to wait until you pick up your item/s after the auction ends. Checks may be payable to "FOSPL" (Friends of the Shippensburg Public Library).
* For the savvy bidder, there is a “proxy” bid you can put in place that will identify the maximum you want to pay for an item, but will only show the minimum bid to all viewers. If another person bids on that item, your bid will automatically increase up to the maximum you identified.
* If you don’t see anything you like, you can still contribute by using the green “donate” button on the upper right-hand corner of the auction site.
Any item not sold during the auction will be available to purchase for the initial asking price on pick up day.
Thank you for your support!
