About Our Auction
The 5th Annual RIDE FOR ALS is happening Saturday, June 20. Proceeds will be donated to the Ottawa Hospital for ALS research.
Before my brother Steve passed from this horrific disease in May 2021, I promised him that I would be relentless in my quest to find a cure. The Steve Hastie Memorial Ride was founded in 2022 with the mission to spread awareness for this terminal diagnosis, and to raise much needed funds for ALS Research.
We invite all of our friends and neighbours to join us in our fight against ALS. Those wishing to support this cause can bid on some fantastic items, graciously donated by local businesses and supporters.
Items will be added throughout the month - June is ALS awareness month - so keep checking back! Share the auction link with your friends and family! There is something for everyone.
*When you win an item in this auction, we will be accepting e-transfers to avoid any of us paying the sites fees.
If you don't find an item that suits your needs or style, please consider making a charitable donation https://tohf.crowdchange.co/53263
About RIDE FOR ALS - Steve Hastie Memorial Ride
5th Annual RIDE FOR ALS is happening Saturday, June 20. Proceeds will be donated to ALS Research at The Ottawa Hospital.
Our brother was diagnosed with ALS on January 7, 2021 and we lost Steve only months later on May 14, 2021. Steve's battle was gruelling, frustrating, and just overall devastatingly fast. Steve accepted his diagnosis, faced this disease head on, and ultimately met his death with so much dignity. Before Steve passed, we promised him that we would promote and fundraise for this horrible disease. The Steve Hastie Memorial Ride was founded in 2022 and our mission is to raise awareness and much needed funds for ALS Research.
There are actually 4 parts to this event:
1. Breakfast from 8:30am-9:30am at MyCar in Richmond - open to the community for a donation to our cause. Sponsored by Royals Restaurant, the local community is welcome to come out in the morning for a coffee or juice, and enjoy a fresh, hot egg sandwich and see the riders off!
2. The Ride - Kickstands up at 10am riding a scenic route to Top Shelf Distillers, our stop in Perth for live entertainment with Three2GO band (approx. 11am-12pm).
3. The Celebration - Winchester Legion, the ride's ending location. The community is welcome to stop in to see the bikes and enjoy some live entertainment with Jamie Douglas (approx. 2pm-4pm).
