Welcome to RBARI Pawprints: A Gallery of Art by Animals — a fundraiser where every piece is one-of-a-kind and the artists are furry, four-legged, and full of personality!

This creative enrichment initiative invites dogs, cats, rabbits, and even small animals to craft original works of art using non-toxic, pet-safe materials. Every brushstroke (or paw print) tells a story — and each masterpiece brings us closer to finding loving homes for these incredible animals.

Each painting session is more than just adorable — it’s an enriching experience that promotes curiosity, play, and self-expression. The result is happier animals, vibrant artwork, and a meaningful way for our community to connect with adoptable pets.

Our auction features standout artwork from recent sessions, each accompanied by a photo of the animal artist and a short bio or "artist's statement." From bold brushwork to delicate pawprints, no two pieces are the same.

Silent Auction: Bid on your favorite pieces through our online platform. Highest bidders take home an original artwork — and help an animal in need. *artwork can be picked up at RBARI or mailed to winner.

Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. (RBARI) is Northern New Jersey’s leading no-kill animal shelter, dedicated to providing second chances to homeless, abused, and neglected animals. We offer safe refuge, essential medical and behavioral care, and the opportunity for a loving forever home.

RBARI focuses on the animals who need us most — seniors, urgent medical cases, cruelty victims, and owner surrenders — including many who are often overlooked. We prioritize a “local first” approach, regularly rescuing from nearby animal control facilities to reduce euthanasia rates and address the growing homeless pet population right here in our community.

Beyond rescue, RBARI supports animal welfare across the region through emergency assistance, partnerships for low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, and collaboration with TNR (trap, neuter, release) groups to address overpopulation and break the cycle of homelessness.

For over 60 years, RBARI has provided transformative care to animals in need, including veterinary treatment, enrichment, training, and nutritious food. We lead with compassion, uphold the dignity and humane treatment of every animal, and work tirelessly to help those with nowhere else to turn.

RBARI is especially known for stepping up in urgent medical cases. Our Medical Fund for Critical Care provides lifesaving treatment to the most vulnerable animals — a mission made possible thanks to the generosity of our community.
