Put a Bid On It - Nepal Benefit Auction

Join the movement to heal hearts wounded by human trafficking as you bid on exciting original art, beautiful handmade items, and services that educate and inspire!

All proceeds go towards program fees that make it possible for me to participate in a unique expressive arts work/study program in Nepal.

My journey will be led by Harambee Arts, a non-profit organization that partners with grassroots programs in Africa and Nepal in the training of local caregivers to provide healing art programs for vulnerable women and children. The first week of the program, I will be trained by survivors of human trafficking and their support staff in the Harambee Arts methodolgy which utilizes multiple art forms (including dance/movement, visual arts, storytelling, and drama) as transformative healing modalities. The second week I will be working directly with Nepali girls in safe houses, children whose mothers are prostitutes, children living with various disabilities and hearing impaired children. I will learn how to create a safe space for participants to heal, a community where everyone is valued and heard, and strategies for creating effective workshops and interventions in crisis situations with diverse populations.

I believe this experience will profoundly impact me and provide me with the tools I need to create and implement effective art therapy programs for women and children in safe houses and shelters in my local community. And by bidding on these beautiful items, you can help!!

I am honored that you are here and deeply grateful for your support.

xoxo
Susan

About Susan Sanelli Hammack

I am a visual artist, avid daydreamer and lover of dark chocolate.

My current interests are the nexus between art, design, healing and spirituality particularly in the context of community building among women. I have extensive experience working with women and youth having led drama workshops, literature circles, and soul deep art workshops and retreats. I love serving young women, particularly survivors of trafficking and at risk teens, helping them to know their worth and step into their power. I seek to forge a world that is more compassionate and just.

In my spare time you can find me walking my dog Roxy on the beach near my home in Pacifica California, hunting for old vinyl with my husband and two daughters, or taking the occasional accordion lesson.
