2020 Promises for Purple Silent Auction

The 9th Promises for Purple Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Walk will be held virtually – with a silent auction to match! On walk day, we typically hold a silent auction to help raise additional funds for Dr. Brian Wolpin and his pancreatic cancer research team at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. This year, you will be able to view auction items in advance, and bidding will be open until November 8th.

Promises for Purple Pancreatic Cancer Awareness started in 2010 by Claire Muollo shortly after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. During her treatments at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, she realized the passion the pancreatic research doctors at DFCI have to better detect the disease in its early stages, to allow those inflicted with this disease to have a better quality of life, and ultimately, to find a cure.

With the help of family and friends, Ms. Muollo decided to organize a family-friendly 5k walk at Braintree High School in Braintree, Massachusetts. Since that time, Promises for Purple has raised approximately $250,000 for pancreatic cancer research.

Sadly, Ms. Muollo passed away in early 2014. Ever tireless and filled with strength, hope and a sense of humor, her crusade to bring awareness and help find a cure continues through her family, friends, and your support.
