About Project Flo Association

Project Flo Overview
MISSION STATEMENT

Project Flo improves communities by restoring homes and building hope.

BACKGROUND

Florence “Flo” Throndson, was an active member of the greater New Hampton community nearly her entire life. She lived a life of service to others – from raising fifteen children to volunteering for numerous organizations and individuals – and was the model steward.

Flo taught us through her well-lived life that:

• All good things come from God.
• God has entrusted each person with unique gifts.
• We are stewards of the gifts during our lifetimes.
• A faithful steward honors God by sharing the gifts with others.
• We are to share the gifts entrusted to us through a life of Christian service to all.

PURPOSE

The purpose of Project Flo is to serve others in a meaningful way. All those involved are invited to share the gifts entrusted to them through service to others. There are many ways to participate in the project and while all participants contribute to the project sharing different amounts of time, talent or treasure, Flo taught that all contributions are equally important.

As currently designed, Project Flo is a one week project that allows participants to generously share their gifts with a family in need. The focus of the project is not on the need of the individual(s) being served. Rather, the focus is on the need of the participants to cheerfully give back some portion of the gifts God has given them and to honor Flo in doing so.

PROJECT TYPES

The projects undertaken by Project Flo generally involve light construction and often include:

Painting
Caulking exterior
Replacement windows
Landscaping
New or enhanced flooring
General clean up
Limited drywall installations
Bathroom remodeling and floor repair
Cabinet replacements
General repairs

Project Flo Association is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Contributions to Project Flo are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Project Flo’s tax identification number is 47-2760950.
