About Our Auction

In honor of Marilyn Thomas and all those affected by Parkinson's, each homebase in the middle and high school and some individual teachers have painted a beautiful pot inspired by a motivational quote. Just like Marilyn, the students in the homebases have enjoyed painting their pot to their heart’s desire whilst reflecting the essence of the quote given.

Pick a pot,
name your price,
want something special?
Just let her know,
And she'll make it overnight!

About Renaissance Academy Student Action Committee

Renaissance Academy Student Action Committee is sponsoring Pots for Parkinson's to bring awareness and raise funds for The Parkinson Council.

Why Pots? One of our very loved teachers, Marilyn Thomas was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease almost 4 years ago. In her honor and all those affected by this disease, we ask you to support our mission to help bring awareness and find a cure for Parkinson's Disease. This neurological disorder has sparked a talent and a passion for painting that she never knew lived within her. And it all started with painting a pot one day. Marilyn noticed that while painting, her symptoms decreased momentarily. This phenomenon prompted Marilyn to paint more and more. Consequently, many of her students, colleagues, and friends have received a painted pot made with love. You will notice that all of the pots being auctioned are painted inside because Marilyn believes that beauty comes from within.

This year the project had been adopted by a member of the group as a senior project. His relationship with Ms. Thomas drove him to look for ways to expand Pots for Parkinson's so that even more people can benefit from the beauty of the pots and donations to research.

ALL POTS ARE PAINTED INSIDE....STOP BY THE SCHOOL TO TAKE A LOOK!!
