PIRS Afghan Women Fund Auction

All proceeds from the online auction will go towards PIRS' Afghan Women Fund.

As Afghan refugees arrive in Vancouver, these families are having to leave their homes suddenly and rebuild their lives in a new country. Funds raised from this auction will help create more English language class spaces, delivering culturally appropriate mental health support, and accessible childcare in locations where newcomers will be oriented or housed. Our goal is to raise $5,000 for our Afghan Women Fund. Your generous donation will help women with young children get access to language programs, childcare, and a sense of community and belonging.

The Pacific Immigrant Resources Society (PIRS) has over 45 years of experience working with immigrant and refugee women and children in the Greater Vancouver area, and a strong track record of delivering high-impact programs. We support a diverse population of women and children, including single immigrant and refugee mothers, women fleeing violence, women with disabilities, and women with mental and/or physical health conditions.

PIRS aims to empower immigrant and refugee women and children through community-based, accessible, and inclusive programs. Our vision is a society that values the diverse contributions of immigrants and refugees and promotes the enrichment of their lives.

Our programs and services are accessible to all women without fees, and use an integrated, trauma-informed approach to supporting newcomer women and children by addressing their identified needs and working with them to learn and address their unexpressed needs.
