Periapsis Music and Dance's 2016-2017 Season

This auction will support our biggest and most important season yet! Funds will go towards our groundbreaking artistic work as well as our valuable service programs, which benefit the entire dance and music communities in NYC and beyond.

Specifically:

- Rehearsal and performance of new company works by resident choreographers Erin Dillon and Hannah Weber, with composer Jonathan Howard Katz. Plus restagings of several favorites from The Portrait Project. (Dancer and musician fees, space rental, costumes and lighting, production costs, A/V documentation.)

- The Periapsis Open Series, a paid performance opportunity for NYC-area choreographers who are collaborating with composers and/or performing with live music. The only series of its kind! (Artist stipends, production costs, A/V documentation.)

- Emerging Artist Residencies, a unique and NEW opportunity for two emerging choreographer/composer pairs to develop new collaborative work on our company in June, getting expert feedback and a work-in-progress showing along the way. (Dancer and musician fees, space rental, artist stipends.)

Periapsis Music and Dance believes in the artists of today and in the body of work that they are creating. The extraordinary choreographers and composers of our time have the vision, voice, and skill to create collaborative works of intrinsic artistic value worthy of performance, study, and preservation. Our mission is to cultivate this new concert repertoire at the intersection of dance and music by actively contributing to it with our ensemble and by facilitating and encouraging such collaborations in the community.

This auction will close live at the Periapsis Benefit on January 23, 2017, at Arts On Site (12 Saint Marks Place #3F, New York, NY 10003). Tickets for the benefit may be purchased through our calendar page: http://periapsismusicanddance.org/calendar/

The benefit begins at 7:00 pm EST, and we expect to close the auctions around 8:30. If you can't make it to the event and want to protect your bid, you can select the buy-it-now option (available on some items) or make sure you've entered your proxy bid by 3:00 pm on January 23, when the online portion closes.
