About Our Auction

Art is common ground… art unites… and libraries are a shared space. This collaboration celebrates all of this, student work, and more.

Students from Spokane Falls Community College instructor Carl Richardson’s Advanced Design class created stained-glass panel designs based on the golden mean. With feedback from students in On Track Academy instructor Erin Bangle’s Advanced Stained-Glass/Pathway class, the designs were revised into final patterns and built into these stained-glass panels by the OTA students.

Signage was created also by OTA Pathway students. In all, seven panels were created and are being displayed at Spokane Public Library branches until June 14. During the time they are on display, the public may bid on the pieces for purchase. All funds raised will benefit InvestED, a program dedicated to impacting students in need.

Join us for a public reception on Tuesday, June 14 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at The Hive to celebrate the pieces, the students, and their work to support the community. Auction winners will be announced at the reception and winners may claim their stained-glass panels at that time.

About Pathway @ On Track Academy

On Track Academy is an Option high school in Spokane Public Schools, serving 550 students from all over Spokane County each year. Students choose OTA for a variety of reasons: Some are in danger of not graduating, some are teen parents, some work full time to help support themselves or families, and many did not connect at their comprehensive home high school. OTA serves as a site for students to re-engage in school. OTA is Title One Option School and serves students in grades 10-12, 74 percent of which are identified as low income and 67 percent qualify for free or reduced lunch. OTA consistently scores above the other high schools in SPS and also above many in the nation on the Panorama Survey, which measures school safety, climate, and student-teacher relationships. Of OTA’s college-bound, many attend SFCC. Since many of our students are first in family to graduate high school, let alone attend a college, having a connection with our local community college creates a bridge for students who may otherwise not have had the confidence to apply or attend.

Pathway is On Track Academy's new 1/2 Interdisciplinary CTE experience. Pathway students make amazing things.
