About Our Auction

The Orthotic and Prosthetic Assistance Fund (OPAF) is a nonprofit organization, a 501(c)(3) public charity, established and incorporated in January 1995 by the Orthotics and Prosthetics National Office.

Dedicated initially to providing financial and in-kind support to the 1996 Paralympics, OPAF now generates its own initiatives through partnerships with individuals, groups and institutions working towards health and fitness for those we serve through the First Clinics. First Volley, adaptive tennis, First Swing, golf, First Swim, First Dive, adaptive scuba and McKeever's First Ride, therapeutic horsemanship offer both recreational activities at an introductory level and the social aspect for those served by the Orthotic & Prosthetic community. More First Clinics - dance, rock climbing, personal fitness and more are all part of the First Clinic family.

All funds raised help us keep our First Clinics free for participants.

About OPAF

The mission of OPAF and The First Clinics is to foster physical fitness, community participation, and peer interaction by providing introductory-level adaptive recreation for individuals with physical and mobility challenges. Life-changing experiences are provided through individual participation and training, education of healthcare professionals, and raising public awareness on a national level.
