Alice is a darling 5 week old boxer, pitbull mix puppy born into rescue. Her momma was a stray that found herself in a high kill shelter in Oklahoma. When Alice was born she seemed to be a healthy, happy puppy. Alice was a lover. She always wanted to be held and gave the best puppy kisses. Now, Alice is the only puppy of the litter who will sit still during nail trims and is very calm when being handled. Despite being one of the smaller pups she always stands up for herself when playing with her bigger siblings and gets a little "butt wiggle" when she sees her foster momma enter a room. Alice is the only pup that has two different colored eyes, one light blue and one dark brown, and loves burrowing under blankets when she gets sleepy. And ever since she got her puppy teeth she loves nibbling on toes and fingers. But best of all...Alice had an approved adopter! She had found her forever home and was just waiting for her adoption day.
In all outward appearances, Alice's life is perfect. Except for one thing. She was born with a congenital condition called Atresia Ani, a genetic disease characterized by malformation of the anus and rectum and she needs a very expensive reconstructive surgery at either Kansas State University or Iowa State University to hopefully correct this condition.

Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue is a NO KILL Midwest rescue specializing in rehoming dogs, cats, and pocket pets, but will help any pet in need. We also offer supportive services to pet owners such as free/reduced rate behavioral training for dogs, and vetting assistance.
