About Our Auction
Help us celebrate Spring and Mother’s Day with our online auction fundraiser. All proceeds go to our HAY FUND to feed our Herd of horses, donkeys, minis , our cow and all the Mother Mares.
Our sanctuary was founded by a mother-and-daughter team and started in loving memory of Mimi, the third-generation grandmother who inspired it all. Together, we share a deep love for horses and for our beautiful Mother Earth.
At the sanctuary, we are a forever home for many horse families. Some mares arrived with foals by their side, others gave birth here after coming to us pregnant, and some unexpectedly became mothers during their time with us. Over the years, we have also said goodbye to a few beloved mares, while their children and extended family continue to live safely within our herd.
In the horse world, it is not common for mothers and their offspring to remain together long term, as they are often separated at a young age. At Happy Rascal Ranch, we made the intentional choice to keep horse families together whenever possible, honoring and supporting the deep bonds and connections they share.
Your support helps us continue providing lifelong care, safety, and sanctuary for these incredible horses and their families.
Thank you for being part of our community and helping us celebrate love, family, and new beginnings this Spring season.
About Happy Rascal Ranch
Happy Rascal Ranch is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation formed specifically and primarily for the purpose of providing a sanctuary and forever home for horses once wild in Placitas, New Mexico and rescued equines. There’s a specific emphasis on natural herd dynamics. In addition, to offering an opportunity for experiential learning and transforming through connecting with the herd in nature, this grassroots mother-and-daughter-founded sanctuary is held together by community and an unwavering passion for animals. They have saved and offered sanctuary to many equines including horses that were once wild, seniors, some with special needs, and donkeys. Many of their rescues suffered from neglect, but now they have a forever home at Happy Rascal Ranch. We appreciate your support!
